Harassment is a Hazard and other OHS Changes in Alberta

Harassment, bullying, toxic work environment; do you have a hazard management plan?

In 2018, Alberta Labour (OHS) added a new layer of employer accountability for health and safety in the work place. The protection of a worker’s psychological and social well-being is here. This workshop will help participants determine the situations which may now be classified as a hazard in the workplace, including protected grounds under the AHRA. Through a combination of case studies, hazard assessment exercises and group discussions, the requirements for managing these “new hazards” will be addressed. Bring your hazard management policies and programs along as there will also be opportunities to share this information for feedback or to help participants identify “best practices”.

Holly Elke has developed, integrated, implemented and evaluated core business systems such as EHS, Quality and Human Resources for over twenty-eight years. Her primary service areas include risk management, occupational health, business system audits, program development/integration, and training services.

Her educational achievements include obtaining the CSP (USA), the CRSP, the CPHR and the CMQ/OE.
